Hey everyone! Welcome to another post on our website! Today, we're going to talk about five cinematic drone moves you can do, plus an amazing bonus at the end.
1. Orbital:
The orbital maneuver is a classic technique that every drone pilot needs to master. It consists of making the drone rotate around a point of interest, creating a beautiful circular image.
Tips for a perfect orbital massage:
Keep the drone centered on the point of interest.
Make smooth and controlled movements.
Include some sky in the image to add depth.
Practice a lot to master the technique.
2. Oblique Pan:
Oblique panning is a variation of traditional panning, where the drone moves laterally while being slightly tilted. This tilt creates a parallax effect, adding dynamism to the image.
Tips for a perfect oblique pan:
Tilt the drone approximately 45 degrees.
Keep the movement smooth and steady.
Use the joystick to control the speed and direction of movement.
Combine an oblique pan with other movements to create even more creative images.
3. Parallax:
Parallax is a visual effect that exploits the difference in perspective between near and far objects. In the case of drones, we can create this effect by moving the camera vertically while the drone moves horizontally.
Types of parallax:
Vertical parallax: The camera moves upwards as the drone moves forward, creating the illusion that nearby objects are moving faster than distant objects.
Horizontal parallax: The drone makes an orbital movement while the camera zooms in, creating the illusion that objects in the background are moving towards the camera.
Tips for a perfect parallax shot:
Plan the move in advance.
Use a gimbal to stabilize the camera.
Make smooth and controlled movements.
Experiment with different speeds and distances to create different effects.
4. Tilt In and Tilt Out:
Tilt in and tilt out are simple movements, but they can be very effective. Tilt in involves moving the camera downwards, while tilt out does the opposite.
Tips for a perfect tilt in/out:
Combine movement with other movements to create more dynamic images.
Use the gimbal to control the camera's speed and tilt.
Experiment with different angles to find the best effect for each scene.
5. Revelation (Dolly/Droni):
The reveal , also known as a drone shot , is a movement that gradually reveals the scenery by moving the drone away from a point of interest.
Tips for a perfect reveal:
Position the drone at eye level of people or objects.
Lower the gimbal to 7 degrees to have 1/3 sky and 2/3 land in the image.
Move the drone away and ascend slightly at the same time.
Reveal the environment gradually, showing the details little by little.
Bonus: Vertigo Effect:
The Vertigo effect is a movement that creates the illusion of vertigo. To do this, you need to move the drone away while simultaneously zooming in.
Tips for a perfect Vertigo effect:
Use a drone with zoom.
Keep the gimbal pointed forward.
Perform the movement smoothly and in a controlled manner.
If your drone doesn't have zoom, you can add the effect in video editing.
These are just a few of the many cinematic moves you can make with your drone. With a little practice and creativity, you can create incredible images that will impress everyone!
